Quand j\u2019\u00e9tais enfant mes parents louaient une petite maison sur l\u2019\u00eele de Santorin, au bord de la falaise. A l’\u00e9poque, on \u00e9tait tenu de faire la sieste, c\u2019\u00e9tait un devoir national. Moi, je n’arrivais pas \u00e0 dormir, et ma m\u00e8re qui s\u2019ennuyait elle aussi, venait s’asseoir au bord de mon lit et, pour passer le temps, elle me montrait les taches d’humidit\u00e9 sur les murs. Santorin est une \u00eele tr\u00e8s humide. Les maisons troglodytes, taill\u00e9es dans le rocher, sont tr\u00e8s mal a\u00e9r\u00e9es. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Il y avait donc sur les murs des taches d’humidit\u00e9 tr\u00e8s visibles, plus sombres que la peinture, qui formaient comme des ombres. Dans ces taches, ma m\u00e8re me demandait de reconna\u00eetre des visages, des personnages, des animaux. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Puis, \u00e0 partir de l\u00e0, de raconter une histoire. \u00c9videmment, pour quelqu’un qui, plus tard, va vouloir \u00e9crire des romans, c’\u00e9tait un exercice formidable ! Aussi pr\u00e9cieux que les jeux litt\u00e9raires auxquels je me suis pr\u00eat\u00e9 pendant des ann\u00e9es pour les \u00ab\u00a0Papous dans la t\u00eate\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 France Culture. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Ma m\u00e8re m’a initi\u00e9 \u00e0 cela, \u00e0 inventer \u00e0 partir d’une contrainte, de figures impos\u00e9es. Au fond, ma m\u00e8re faisait du Georges Perec sans le savoir. Plus tard, quand je me suis retrouv\u00e9 devant ma page blanche, je repensais au mur de la maison de Santorin. Sauf que l\u00e0 il n\u2019y avait plus les taches, il me fallait les imaginer. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>

Comme souvent, je fus \u00e9merveill\u00e9, non pas par ce bleu familier \u00e0 l’ile, mais par la luminosit\u00e9 et ses contrastes qu’il r\u00e8gne ici. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ainsi, pour cette s\u00e9rie,<\/a> j’ai pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 le noir & blanc.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
