noreferrer\"><em>Kermes vermilio<\/em>,<\/a> une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de\u00a0cochenilles, dont on extrayait une teinture de couleur rouge.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">De nos jours, ce colorant est r\u00e9f\u00e9renc\u00e9 \u00ab<a href=\"https:\/\/www.les-additifs-alimentaires.com\/E120-cochenille.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">E120<\/a>\u00bb dans l&rsquo;industrie alimentaire. \u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">L\u2019av\u00e8nement de la\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Cochenille (insecte)\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cochenille_(insecte)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cochenille<\/a> ( vers 1500 ) mit fin \u00e0 cette production, laissant place \u00e0 la dominance d&rsquo;une esp\u00e8ce \u00abparasite\u00bb : le pin et son incroyable graphisme a\u00e9rien. C&rsquo;est la r\u00e9sultante d&rsquo;une combinaison de plusieurs facteurs qui se sont successivement encha\u00een\u00e9s : une d\u00e9sertification partielle due au manque d&rsquo;entretien des sous-bois, un p\u00e2turage excessif favorisant l&rsquo;\u00e9rosion des sols et de nombreux incendies. Pour prot\u00e9ger la ville et son port militaire, plusieurs forts ont \u00e9t\u00e9 construits au XIX\u1d49 si\u00e8cle sur ses hauteurs.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><em>Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le important. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><em>En ao\u00fbt 1944, lors du d\u00e9barquement de Provence, les forces fran\u00e7aises ont combattu pour lib\u00e9rer Toulon de l\u2019occupation allemande. Les combats ont \u00e9t\u00e9 violents en raison de sa position strat\u00e9gique.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><em>Aujourd\u2019hui, c&rsquo;est un lieu touristique et naturel.
