<\/span>La bo\u00eete \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tiquette bleue<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

\"Boite<\/a>La bo\u00eete \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tiquette bleue contenait trois plaques de verre jadis expos\u00e9es. Ces images oubli\u00e9es et soustraites aux yeux de tous sont restitu\u00e9es dans ce film.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Avec le premier volet du triptyque commence la remont\u00e9e dans le temps. Le film s\u2019ouvre par un grincement de porte, myst\u00e9rieux. Les n\u00e9gatifs en latence depuis pr\u00e8s d\u2019un si\u00e8cle sur ces plaques de verre sont enfin r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9s, les images apparaissent lentement\u2026 un paysage neigeux se fond dans un tuilage de bleu, gris et blanc.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Le deuxi\u00e8me volet nous pr\u00e9sente une inconnue. \"Boite<\/a>Qui est-elle\u00a0? Aucun moyen de le savoir\u2026 La seule chose certaine est qu\u2019elle n\u2019est plus depuis longtemps.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

L\u2019espace d\u2019un instantan\u00e9 elle est l\u00e0 entre les volets de sa maison et la vigne vierge qui grimpe le long de la fa\u00e7ade.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\"BoiteElle para\u00eet surprise par le photographe. Elle \u00e9tait loin de se douter qu\u2019elle rena\u00eetrait une centaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es plus tard.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

La musique quant \u00e0 elle se transforme en mati\u00e8re sonore invisible mais palpable.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Un autre paysage enneig\u00e9 et le film est termin\u00e9. Non, pas tout \u00e0 fait.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Il r\u00e9appara\u00eet sous la forme d\u2019un triptyque. Les trois pans sont r\u00e9unis, les musiques superpos\u00e9es pour former une \u0153uvre unique.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\"Boite<\/a><\/span>Le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 photographique au g\u00e9latino-bromure d’argent a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis au point en 1871, par le Britannique <\/span><\/em>Richard Maddox <\/a><\/span>(1816-1902).\u00a0 Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une petite r\u00e9volution dans le monde de la photographie car il permet un temps de pose beaucoup plus bref<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Faute d\u2019avoir d\u00e9pos\u00e9 un brevet, ce sont les \u00ab Lumi\u00e8re \u00bb p\u00e8re et fils qui vont commercialiser ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 et fondent en 1879 \u00ab la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des plaques et papiers photographiques A.\u00a0Lumi\u00e8re & ses Fils<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/em>\u00bb.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Les bo\u00eetes\u00a0de plaques au g\u00e9latino-bromure d\u2019argent\u00a0<\/span><\/em>baptis\u00e9es \u00ab\u00e9tiquette bleue\u00bb vont faire la fortune des Lumi\u00e8re et l\u2019usine de Monplaisir\u00a0<\/span><\/em>va tourner \u00e0 plein r\u00e9gime.

The Box known as ‘\u00e9tiquette bleue’<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Inside the box known as ‘\u00e9tiquette bleue’ there were three plates of glass which in the past would have been exhibited. These long forgotten pictures concealed from everyone’s sight have been restored\u00a0 in this film.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first panel of the triptyque begins with a trip back in time. The film opens with the mysterious creaking of a door. The negatives on these plates of glass, and laying there\u00a0 for almost a century have at last been brought to light; the pictures appear slowly…..a snow-clad landscape dissolves into overlaying blue, grey and white.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second panel reveals a stranger. Who is she? No way of knowing. The only thing that is certain is that she hasn’t been around for a long time.<\/span><\/p>\n

We catch sight of her for a split second, framed by the shutters of the house and the Virginia creeper climbing the wall.<\/span><\/p>\n

She seems to be surprised at being photographed .\u00a0 The last thing she could have imagined was that she would come to life again a hundred years later.<\/span><\/p>\n

As for the music it changes into an intangible but palpable sound.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another snow covered landscape and the film comes to an end. No, not completely. It is seen once more as a triptyque. The three panels are put together, The musics come together to form a whole.<\/span><\/p>\n

The photographic technique with gelatino- silver bromide was invented in 1871 by a Britisher Richard Maddox (1816-1902). This invention radically changed photograghy as\u00a0 a much shorter light exposure time \u00a0 was\u00a0 now needed .<\/span><\/p>\n

As he didn’t patent this process, it was the Lumi\u00e8res, father and son who would put this process on the market and who set up\u00a0 the the Firm A Lumi\u00e8re and Son specializing in Plates and photographic paper in 1789.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0 Lumi\u00e8re family\u00a0 would make their fortune from the boxes of gelatino-silver bromide plates ,known as ‘\u00e9tiquette bleue’ and their factory at Monplaisir would work at full capacity.<\/span><\/p>\n
